Roseville Student Wins Honorable Mention in Statewide Art Contest
A first grade student from Roseville won an honorable mention in the California Coastal Art & Poetry Contest.

A talented Roseville first grader won an honorable mention in the California Coastal Art & Poetry Contest for her painting of a sea otter.
Sofia Lutsuk submitted the painting, “Looking for Food” in the statewide contest, winning one of four honorable mentions in her grade level. The contest is open for students in kindergarten to 12 grade and had 2,340 entries this year.
The contest’s goal is to encourage youth to reflect on the beauty and spirit of California’s beaches and ocean and inspire an appreciation of their natural places.

Lutsuk takes art classes at the Caplinska Art Studio in Roseville.
