- Teaming with the American Heart Association, students at Merryhill Elementary and Middle School in Roseville have earned $9,000 for the Heart Heroes program. The kids are jumping rope to earn money for the cause. "Our students have been working really hard to fundraise for children who unfortunately have unhealthy heart conditions," said PE teacher and coach David Wong. (CBS News)
- Roseville Today pit Rocklin against Roseville in a contest of parks and open spaces. The winner? For parks, the publication gave the prize to Rocklin, highlighting Boulder Ridge Park, Johnson-Springview Park and Whitney Park as being stellar examples. For trails and open spaces, though, the crown went to Roseville noting that "Roseville mandates about 80 percent more open space per development than Rocklin and it shows. "
- The Courts at Gibson Park was approved for a budget increase at the last Roseville City Council meeting. "According to the staff report, the council approved a budget adjustment of $334,000 from the North Central Neighborhood Park Fund and $1,710,500 from the Citywide Park Fund to Abide Builders, Inc. for the Gibson Park Project." Pickleball courts will be the focus of the first phase of the project. It seems like we just can't get enough pickleball here, in Roseville, doesn't it? (Gold Country Media)
- Rocklin Little League fixture Joey Zorio passed away unexpectedly on February 22 at the age of 42. If you played Little League in Rocklin in the past 21 years, you probably knew Joey. “He loved baseball, but what kept him coming back was that he loved interacting and being able to interact with the kids learning to love the game of baseball,” Rocklin Little League President Chris May said. A celebration of life was held for Zorio on March 3. People were asked to "come in their favorite baseball or Disney gear to honor Zorio." (Gold Country Media)

- "Volunteers are needed for occasional cleanup [of the trails that parallel Dry Creek from Walerga Rd to Watt Ave]; the County will be providing trash bags and handling pickup of full bags and large piles of debris. Completed liability forms prior to cleanup are being required by Placer County." (Roseville Today)
