Here are the top stories today in Roseville:
- They got him! A 35-year-old male was arrested for the robbery of an 89-year-old Lincoln woman. The suspect, identified as Joshua Daniel Allen Kind, knocked on her door and said he needed to retrieve his child's ball from her backyard. When she let him in, he allegedly robbed "cash, checks, credit cards and the woman’s driver's license." King was arrested and booked on "multiple felony charges." (KCRA Sacramento)
- John Becker, Roseville Joint Union High School District Superintendent, has a message for his community, in Roseville Today . He reminds us how important the upcoming months will be. They will be filled with family, friends and a little homework and, for many seniors, also college applications and their first-ever voting experience. Life truly blossoms for those in high school. It can be stressful, but rewarding.
- Did you make it to Comic-Con at the Roebbelen Event Center? Renae Jacobs, the voice of April O’Neil from the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” was there. So was Goldie Wilson from “Back to the Future.” If you didn't have a chance to catch this one, the Roebbelen Event Center will also host SacAnime Spring 2023 in February. (Gold Country Media)
- Lincoln's Brandon Lopez is ABC10's Teacher of the Month! Lopez is a fourth-grade teacher at Carlin C. Coppin Elementary School in Lincoln. "Teachers need to be great motivators. We are always looking for ways to keep our students engaged and motivated to do their best,” he said. Sounds like he doesn't need additional motivation to be a great teacher, but I bet the $1,000 prize is a welcome bonus. (ABC10.com KXTV)
- Roseville City School District Superintendent Derk Garcia reminds students that kindness is a core value at RCSD. Talk with your family about kindness and gratitude and see where the conversation takes you. And don't forget to be grateful to our troops this Veteran's Day. (Roseville Today)
