Here are the top stories in Roseville today:
- On Friday around 2 p.m., Roseville police received a distress call of a medical emergency. When they arrived at the location, "a swollen Roseville creek" off Antelope Creek Drive, they found a victim in need of a water rescue. They called in the special water team to rescue the individual and then administered medical help, once the victim was brought to safety. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. (cbsnews.com)
- Have you seen the spectacle of all the water being released from Folsom Dam? But Folsom Dam is only about 1/3 full, so why are they releasing the water? It turns out that authorities don’t have a choice. Given the snowpack and the rules in place, they are mandated to start releasing water. It sure is a powerful sight. I hope the weather lives up to the forecast and we don’t end up wishing we had it back, come summer… And, speaking of all of that water being released… kayakers, beware! Gold Country Media reminds you that this release could mean hazardous conditions, with rapidly rising water levels and strong currents on Lake Natoma over the next several days. - Lincoln Street, from Washington Boulevard to Elefa Street, will be closed starting Tuesday January 3 for roundabout construction. You can learn more at roseville.ca.us/roundabout. (City of Roseville, California Government via Facebook)
