Here are the top three stories today in Roseville:

  1. Roseville Police are asking the public to help them in their search for a 69-year-old woman who went missing from her apartment complex last week. Karen Lawson, age 69, was last seen on Feb. 1 in the area of Eureka Road and Douglas Blvd. According to authorities, Lawson does not own a car, and the friend who reported Lawson missing said "it's unusual for her to be away from home" for this length of time. If you have any information about Lawson's whereabouts, please contact Officer Howland at 916-774-5000 or AHowland@roseville.ca.us. (Gold Country Media)
  2. Kaiser Permanente just filed plans for a multi-million dollar expansion to its Roseville Medical Center. According to plans filed with the state of California, the expansion would cost $298 million and result in a new tower with 30 intensive care unit beds and 108 surgical beds. Kaiser Permanente would also expand its perioperative and emergency departments, inpatient pharmacy, and support spaces. A permit has not yet been issued for the proposed project. (Sacramento Bee)
  3. If you lost out on pay because you called out sick with COVID-19 last month, you may be entitled to get that money back. On Monday, state lawmakers passed a bill requiring employers to offer paid COVID-19 sick leave. Many companies are now mandated to give workers up to two weeks of paid time off to recover from COVID, retroactive to Jan. 1, 2022. (CBS Sacramento)
