Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:

  1. The Raley’s O-N-E Market on Blue Oaks Boulevard officially opened at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. O-N-E stands for Organics-Nutrition-Education, but it'll also have a beer and wine bar just in case you need a break from all of that good-for-you-ness. This is only the fourth of the Raley's stores with this concept. The others are in El Dorado Hills, Truckee and Reno. (CBS Sacramento)
  2. You're getting in on the ground floor of this one! They haven't even issued a press release yet, but I have it on good authority (i.e. Facebook) that Tapville has signed an agreement to bring a kiosk location to Roseville, inside Westfield Galleria. It's an interesting concept. Pour your own and sip while you shop. (Facebook.com)
  3. The Rocklin property commonly known as Clover Valley is one step closer to being protected with the County Board of Supervisors unanimously voting to provide up to $1 million toward the purchase. According to YubaNet, "The valley has been home to the Nisenan Maidu Tribe for over 7,000 years and was a major tribal center, according to archeologists." (YubaNet)
  4. Roseville police are still investigating a 'suspicious death' in Roseville that has residents raising speculation. According to about six neighbors in this quiet neighborhood, the house has raised suspicion before, with people going in and out. The victim's roommates are cooperating with authorities. (ABC10) Update: Police arrested Ryan Bacon late Wednesday and booked him into the South Placer Jail on murder charges related to this death. (KCRA3)
  5. A hilarious smash-and-grab? You're about to watch one on surveillance video if you click this link! A thief broke into The Bead ‘N Crystal in Roseville and tried to make off with a few crystal sculptures. The problem? He needs a better work(out) ethic! He couldn't lift the 200 pound sculptures, try as he might. The owner, who believes in karma, can't stop laughing at this criminal's bad luck. (CBS Sacramento)

Are you a Roseville resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?

Bloomberg recently asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.

Thinking you can’t afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.

Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here’s why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)

To learn more, visit Masterworks.io, where Roseville Daily readers can skip the waitlist.
