- The woman who drowned at Folsom Lake was a beloved mother of three daughters and was recently married. Ariel Ampania-Pittman was out for a ride on a jet ski with her youngest daughter and a friend when the three were thrown off while making a turn. A good Samaritan brought them to shore, but Ariel had lost consciousness. She later died at the hospital. The 30-year-old leaves behind a large, loving family including a husband and three daughters. - Roseville Police are asking for help in their investigation of the stabbing that took place at Golfland Sunsplash on Saturday. They say they believe the assailant and victim knew each other. The victim, who is expected to make a full recovery, is not from this area. “This is a very uncommon crime in our city, and so when something like this happens, we do dedicate resources to figure it out because we appreciate low crime rates here in Roseville and we want to do everything we can to keep crime low and keep crime out of our city,” Roseville Police spokesperson Rob Baquera said. - The master planned community of Rocklin is nearing 'build out' capacity as Bay Area residents migrate to the region. Once it meets full capacity, prices will begin to soar. Homes are already going for tens or hundreds of thousands over the asking price in both Rocklin and Roseville, with, sometimes, hundreds of interested parties and once Rocklin reaches capacity, that trend is likely to escalate. While the influx of people wanting to find a home here increases the cost of living, it's a great thing for the economy of the region. Businesses are seeing an influx of customers and the people moving here are bringing jobs with them, often working remotely from companies based in the Bay Area, which helps diversify the economy and make it more resilient. - The National Pony Express is riding the Historic Pony Express Trail from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento passing right through Historic Folsom. On Thursday, June 16 Historic Sutter Street will be one of the stops as it travels into Sacramento to conclude its 2022 run. At 11:30 a.m. there will be a rider change in front of the Folsom History Museum at 823 Sutter St. Bring kids, cameras and patience for this fun event. It'll be popular! (Folsom Telegraph)
- Once again, Doug Wagemann supports those in need in our community. Wagemann is with the Downtown Roseville Partnership (DRP) and Cochrane & Wagemann Funeral Directors. He recently donated $500 worth of Subway gift cards to the RPD Social Services Unit. The gift cards are used by SSU to support vulnerable people within our community.
