Here are the top stories in Roseville today:

  1. A four-vehicle crash around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday morning near Roseville Parkway and Pleasant Grove Boulevard sent three people to the hospital. It is still unclear what caused the accident and the condition of the people taken to the hospital is unknown at this time. (CBS Sacramento)
  2. A fire erupted at a residence in Lincoln on Wednesday morning. "The Placer County Fire Department, Roseville Fire Department, and Rocklin Fire Department assisted Lincoln firefighters with a house fire on the 500 block of Navigator Drive." Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. (CBS Sacramento)
  3. Folsom Lake has claimed another victim - the second this summer. A man reportedly drown near the Rattlesnake Bar area of Folsom Lake on Tuesday. The man was attempting to swim from shore to a small island in the lake. His two female companions made it to the island before they realized the man was no longer behind them. Authorities received a call around 12:35 alerting them to the missing swimmer. The man was found about an hour later in 15 - 20 feet water. None of the swimmers was wearing a life jacket. (KCRA Sacramento)
  4. More than 50 11- to 14-year-olds took part in the Roseville Fire Kids Camp this week. It has been a rousing success! The kids even got to try rappelling down the side of a building! The camp is intended to teach kids about fire safety, as well as how challenging and rewarding being a firefighter can be. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
  5. Seventeen Golden State counties were ranked among the healthiest communities in the United States and your very own Placer county ranked in the top 50 in the country! Coming in at number 43, Placer was the third healthiest in California behind San Mateo and Santa Clara. I'm proud to say we beat Marin, the fourth healthiest in Cali, by a wide margin!
