Skydiving Grandma Rides in NASCAR Racecar in Roseville
Laverne Everett had another one of her wishes come true at the All American Speedway. She will also be the grand marshal at the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Race Saturday.
The βskydiving grandmaβ crossed another item off her bucket list and this time things went much smoother.
to celebrate her 80th birthday last year. After the video became a viral sensation, Everett went on the "Today Show," where she admitted that riding in a NASCAR racecar was something sheβd always wanted to do.

Her driver, Eric Holmes, said Everett was the oldest passenger heβd had in his racecar and one who has drawn the most publicity.
Holmes helped fulfill Everettβs dream of riding in a NASCAR racecar and before the ride, said he hoped it would be a better experience than her last βbucket listβ item.

βHopefully Iβll do better than her last one,β Holmes said. βWeβll give her the ride-along sheβs always wanted to do. Iβll keep her safe.β
Everett, with the help of multiple men, slid into the racecar, snapped on her helmet and hit the Roseville track. Holmes and Everett made multiple laps and ended smoothly.
βThe end was much better,β Everett said. βIt was great.β
However, post-ride, she did admit one thing: βI could have gone faster,β she said.
Everett may get the chance, as she was offered another ride Saturday during the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Race, when she will be the grand marshal.
The Oakdale residentβs wish was made possible thanks to Bill McAnally, owner of BMR NASCAR racing team.
McAnally said he saw Everett on the "Today Show" and heard her wish to ride in a NASCAR racecar.
βI heard that and filed it away,β McAnally said. β(I thought it would be the) perfect way to make her bucket list dream come true.β
Everettβs ride was an event that kicked off a weekend of NASCAR at the All American Speedway.
Friday, Oct. 12 is Fan and Race Team Appreciation Night and will feature NASCAR late models and modifieds. The gates open at 5 p.m. and general admission tickets cost $15.
Everett will return to the Roseville racetrack on Saturday, Oct. 13 as the grand marshal for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Race. Saturdayβs race is the 14th of 15 events in the series championship.
According to NASCAR, βDefending champion Greg Pursley leads Dylan Kwasniewski by 14 points in the battle for the series championship. The Roseville race could be a pivotal point in the title hunt, if one of the two drivers has a poor finish there.β
General admission for Saturdayβs race is $35.
