Snoopy Makes Roseville Appearance

The Peanuts gang explores the natural world in the latest exhibit at the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. The grand opening is set for Friday, followed by a talk with Canadian film producer Andrew Nisker.

Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang will make a Roseville appearance Friday for the grand opening on the ’s newest exhibit — Peanuts … Naturally.

The grand opening celebration is set for 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3. It’s a family friendly and free event that will include a first-chance glimpse of the exhibit, costumed characters Snoopy and Charlie Brown, munchies from Whole Foods Market and a local artist will teach visitors how to draw Peanuts characters.

Peanuts … Naturally is a traveling exhibit that takes a look at Charles Schulz’s exploration of the natural world through Peanuts comic strips, videos and interactive stations. Visitors get a Peanuts-eye-view of the universe — trees, birds, the elements of snow, wind, rain and clouds and nature. Kids of all ages are welcome to tour the exhibit.

Following the exhibit debut in Roseville, Canadian film producer Andrew Nisker will discuss his film “Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home.” Nisker will talk about the film, television and how Snoopy has influenced our view of the environment.

The talk runs from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. Tickets are $9 for students, Roseville residents and Placer Nature Center members and $12 for general admission.
