Steps for Invisalign Treatment

Like other orthodontic treatments, Invisalign treatment involves a series of steps that are customized to the patient. This patented process gives patients a fast, discreet path to a healthier, better-looking smile.

First Visit

The first appointment for Invisalign patients involves establishing candidacy and taking photos, bite impressions, and X-rays. These patient records are sent to Invisalign, which manufactures the aligners exactly as specified by our Invisalign provider in Rocklin. Weeks later, the aligners arrive at our office and treatment can begin.

Active Treatment

At the beginning of treatment, our dentist will give the patient their first aligners and instructions for proper use. Patients need to wear the aligners for at least twenty-two hours every day, and return to our office every few weeks to have progress assessed and get the next set.

Retainer Use

After patients finish active correction, they must wear retainers, which look like Invisalign aligners, but do not change the positions of teeth. The role of the retainers is to hold the teeth in place longer so that recently achieved results are permanent.
