  1. Cowabunga, dude! Surf’s up in Placer! Or, it soon will be. El Dorado County-based Inland Surf Company plans to build Northern California's first ever wave-surfing resort, called Alchemy Surf Park, at “a project site in unincorporated Placer County near Roseville and Rocklin." It’ll take a few years to get it to completion, but once done, you’ll be able to try your hand (feet?) at real surfing. (Gold Country Media)
  2. The Granite Bay Municipal Advisory Council reviewed a zoning amendment that would allow for certain height limits to be exceeded through a conditional use permit process “for a winery, tasting room or accessory-use restaurant.” Supervising planner Jennifer Byous confirmed this consideration is being reviewed for Project 8 Winery, which is looking at some space on Callison Road. (Gold Country Media)
  3. Placer County received California's Prohousing Designation. It's the first county in the state to receive this designation, which "provides Placer and its private development partners a competitive edge in obtaining grant funding toward affordable housing, workforce housing, sustainable community development and infrastructure projects." (placer.ca.gov)
  4. The roundabout in Rocklin is still under construction and this week road closures for portions of Pacific Street and Rocklin Road will be required. However, note that "this will not be a complete closure; limited traffic will be allowed to move through the roundabout." (rocklin.ca.us)
