Suspect Arrested in 2010 Oakmont High Theft
DNA analysis led to an arrest 13 months after the break-in.

A DNA analysis led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man who is suspected of breaking into about 13 months ago and removing a safe.
According to Roseville Police, the suspect broke into the school cafeteria in the middle of the night, went into an office and a removed a safe that had been bolted to the floor. The safe contained cash and electronic keys to the school, said Dee Dee Gunther, spokesperson for the Roseville Police Department. Gunther said the keys were reprogrammable, allowing school officials to deactivate them if they are lost or stolen.
At the time, police had no leads, but the crime scene technicians collected evidence and submitted it to the California Department of Justice's crime lab for DNA analysis.
