Here are the top three stories in Roseville today:
- Oakmont High School in Roseville went on a short lockdown late Friday morning because of a possible burglary suspect. Roseville Police say they got a report of a residential burglary in progress along Crestmont Drive a little after 11 a.m. Officers responded to the scene and spotted the suspect, but the person then jumped a fence and ran through the parking lot of Oakmont High School, prompting the lockdown. - According to the Roseville Police Department, ten suspects allegedly used sledgehammers in a smash-in-grab theft at a Roseville Galleria jewelry store. The suspects then fled the area with an unknown amount of jewelry in two waiting vehicles, described as a silver four-door Chevrolet and a bright orange Dodge Charger. (ABC10.com KXTV)
- A camping ordinance is expected to be proposed during the Placer County Board of Supervisors meeting on Mar. 8. The proposal includes the removal of camp facilities and prohibiting camping or the use of camping paraphernalia in county public space and high fire severity zones between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The ordinance includes an exemption for inclement weather and day resources for unsheltered individuals.
