- One bridge in rural Lincoln has undergone a substantial makeover thanks to the Federal Highway Administration’s Federal Highway Bridge Project. The bridge, that used to be just one lane and that used to collect debris and routinely flood, now has a lane going in each direction and has only one support pier, allowing debris to pass unhindered. - Got a hankering to start Christmas early? The Acres of Hope ReNew Store in Roseville just reopened to the public with its Christmas spirit on full, festive display. ReNew is a thrift store run by Acres of Hope and proceeds go to help "women and children overcome cycles of homelessness and trauma." “It’s the best place to shop,” said Kathy Schairer, a customer shopping Wednesday afternoon. “It’s the first place I go to before I go anywhere else, and I tell all my friends to come here first before they go anywhere.” (Gold Country Media)
- Neighbors have rallied to bring Halloween back to one home in Citrus Heights that was vandalized last week. A huge, mostly Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloween display was "slashed" by vandals, but neighbors didn't want that to get in the way of a happy Halloween, so they came to the homeowner's aid. Some brought sewing machines to help fix the displays; others dropped off cards and money. "“We see tons and tons of good people coming here, talking to my kids and walking their dogs. One bad person doesn't define a community," said the homeowner, Nick Edens. (ABC10.com KXTV)
