Here are the top stories in Roseville today:

  1. UC Davis Health opened a new Pediatric Lipid Disorder Clinic in Roseville yesterday. The clinic is designed to treat juveniles with lipid disorders, such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides. Those disorders can be associated with early onset stroke or heart attack. According to Roseville Today, "The clinic team includes a pediatric cardiologist with additional training in lipidology, a cardiac sonographer and a dietitian. When needed, a pediatric endocrinologist and geneticist are also available for consults." (Roseville Today)
  2. Roseville Police arrested a man on Sunday in connection with a deadly shooting in Fresno. The man, Antoine Caradine, 33, is accused of three shootings in Fresno on October 1, one of which resulted in a death. Police said they arrested Caradine at a "golf establishment" at Blue Oaks Boulevard and Highway 65 after he exited at closing time. Seems like the guy was enjoying a few games of TopGolf to wind down. I guess that's one way to relieve the stress of allegedly committing a felony or three. He is being held at the Placer County jail on suspicion of murder and other charges. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  3. Lincoln Police were hoppin' Saturday night as they made two unrelated DUI arrests within three hours of each other. One of the suspects had a blood alcohol level of .301, or almost four times the legal limit. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either case. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
  4. Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA) is seeking community input from transit riders. To give input as part of this process you can take the online survey at: pctpa.net/utn. They will be taking input through November 18, or you can give them your input in person at the public hearing on Wednesday, October 26 at 9 a.m. at the Placer County Board of Supervisors Chambers. (roseville.ca.us)
  5. On Monday, October 10, just after 4:00 a.m. someone burglarized a sand and and gravel store at 700 Berry St. The suspect cut a hole in the fence to gain entry into the yard and then pried open the back exit door . You can see a picture of the individual here. If you have information about this suspect, please contact Roseville Police at 916-774-5000.

  • "Take your kids to Santa's Enchanted Workshop and come away with a lifetime of memories documented with heirloom style photography. They get to visit with Santa for an hour, talk about their Christmas dreams and enjoy fresh baked cookies. You get to take home a treasure. Last year this event sold out by mid-October, so jump on it if you are interested."
  • Enjoy a beautiful autumn day of cycling the scenic backroads of Lincoln and Placer County at the Tour de Lincoln on October 15, starting at McBean Park. Proceeds benefit Rotary service projects. Optional rides include a metric century (62.7 miles), half metric century (32 miles), and quarter metric century (15 miles). A BBQ lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Now you're in the loop and ready to head out the door on this Wednesday. I'll see you around!
