Here are the top three stories today in Roseville:

  1. UFCW 8-Golden State has reached tentative contract agreements after extensive bargaining sessions that cover its membership with the remaining Save Mart Companies locations throughout California. The tentative agreements cover a variety of improvements, including substantial wage increases, maintained successor language addressing the recent change in ownership, medical benefit improvements, better wage progressions, and the creation of an additional Lifetime Income Security Accrual Account (LISA) retirement plan for current and future members. The tentative agreements will be submitted to members to vote on in the coming weeks. (Street Insider)
  2. Goats are back in Roseville to help with open space management and to reduce the potential fire load by doing what they do best: grazing. The goats will help manage roughly 1,700 acres of the nearly 4,000 acres of open space in the city. The goats will be in Roseville from April until October, and Parks, Recreation & Libraries Superintendent Eric Dexter stated the department has a goal of finishing firebreak areas by July 1. 3. As temperatures start to rise, water features in Roseville parks will turn on by May 14. The water features appear to be limited to Downtown Roseville at Vernon Street Town Square. Other water features will remain closed until further notice due to required repairs and drought. (Roseville Today)
