  1. An alleged mail thief was nabbed early Thursday morning in Granite Bay. The Rocklin resident had several W-2 and other financial forms in her vehicle that didn't belong to her. "They also found 50 pieces of unopened mail and six pieces of opened mail addressed to people in Placer and Sacramento counties." Authorities want you to know that you can sign up for USPS Informed Delivery, which allows you to see what is being delivered to your mailbox, so you can keep track. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  2. On April 20, 2021, a Roseville Police officer attempted to pull over Rafael Vital, who fled to the freeway and when the officer followed, Vital fired several shots at him. Vital was found guilty of attempted murder in January. On February 15, Vital was sentenced to 30 years to life. (Roseville Today)
  3. The venue called The Venue will open at Thunder Valley Casino on Friday. It's beautiful, as it should be: It cost a whopping $100 million! The Eagles will kick it all off with a rockin' show tonight. Bruno Mars hits the stage on Saturday and Santana wraps up the weekend on Sunday. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
  4. The community to be known as Prospera at Fiddyment Ranch is having a groundbreaking ceremony on February 28. "This is the first affordable development to pull permits in west Roseville since 2008 adding to the 1,097 affordable housing units approved in Roseville since the beginning of 2022."   • "Visit the Auburn State Theatre for an afternoon of educational excitement, as you listen to the story about the Grosh brothers discovering silver in the 1800s and the tragedy that befell them as they were about to capitalize on what would become one of the world’s largest concentration of mineral worth. The presentation starts at 2 p.m. with a meet-and-greet at 1 p.m."
  • Auburn’s second annual restaurant week takes place February 25 through March 5. "With a wide array of cuisines to choose from, you will be able to find everything from gastro pub offerings, exquisite Italian, American fusion, gourmet pizzas, exotic entrees, and savory south of the border cuisine."
