  1. Got some down time over the summer? Consider these 101 volunteer opportunities in the Roseville region! The city of Roseville Volunteer Center tool can help you to narrow down your search to just the right opportunity for you to help your fellow Rosevillians. Find everything from A to WEAVE. “The city of Roseville Volunteer Center provides opportunities for Roseville and South Placer County residents to contribute to their community. Volunteers have an opportunity to discover new interests, meet new people, and develop new skills. Assignments can be made available on a long- [or] short-term basis, depending on needs of the organization and commitment level of the volunteer.” (Roseville Today)
  2. The Placer County Fair opens in Roseville Thursday! The 2022 fair includes a bunch of new fun like a BMX stunt team, a magic and comedy show and a two-woman aerial team from Canada. The 84th annual fair will run from June 23 through June 26 and is located @the Grounds in Roseville. Bring the family and enjoy the tastes, thrills and fun of the County Fair! (ABC10.com KXTV)
  3. Roseville Transit is seeking your feedback on proposed route changes. Join a public workshop Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 311 Vernon St. to learn more and voice your opinion. Dial-A-Ride is available to the meeting at no cost.   4. From the Roseville Firefighters Local 1592: "Last week Roseville Firefighters assisted in a prescribed burn in the Cal Fire jurisdiction. Along with the environmental benefits, these prescribed burns are a great training opportunity with fire behavior in terrain we commonly see every year around our own city."   5. During its meeting on June 14, the Placer County Board of Supervisors approved the intent to adopt the Fiscal Year 2022-23 recommended budget in a unanimous vote. Included in the budget, which is up 19% from 2021-22, is increased funding for staffing for the Placer County Sheriff as well as a 9% increase in spending for the Placer County Library. The budget will return to the board for adoption during the June 28 meeting. (Gold Country Media)

  • Did you know that Fowler Ranch in Lincoln has a Farmer's Market on Thursdays and Sundays? Lots of local, Placer County growers show up with their juiciest produce. And, rumor has it that Fowler Ranch is also going to open a brewery. Maybe that will get you out there to eat more fruits and veggies!
  • West Park High School Booster Club has planned its first Annual Tailgate Fundraiser! The Panther Football Boosters Club will be hosting a fun-filled evening of tailgating, with five food trucks, a DJ, desserts, a cornhole tournament, kids activities, a silent auction and raffles! Mark your calendars for some fun! July 23 5 - 8 p.m. (Facebook)
