A Virtual Reality Experience, "Insurgent - Shatter Reality" Comes to the Bay Area This Weekend

Lionsgate and Samsung Electronics America have teamed up to create the exclusive “Insurgent – Shatter Reality” as a four-minute virtual reality experience to promote the theatrical release of “The Divergent Series: Insurgent.”

A fully-immersive, 360° narrative experience, the visual work features stars from the film including Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, Miles Teller and Mekhi Phifer. By putting on the Samsung Gear VR headset, fans will be immersed in the role of “Divergent” members of society who have been captured by Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) and her Erudite faction and are subjected to a series of mental “simulations” in order to determine the full extent of their divergence.

Bay Area fans can experience this virtual reality tour at San Francisco’s PIER 39 on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22 between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm. Admission is free to the general public.
