Week in Review, Aug. 19: Gang-Related Shooting, Pedestrian Killed, More

Last week in Roseville, we had a few big stories: Two teens were shot leaving a party at the Placer County Fairgrounds and police believe the shooting was gang-related; also a pedestrian was killed after a suspected DUI driver fled from police. But we also had some good news: An update on progress at Sammy's Rockin' Island Bar & Grill and Zócalo is now open at the Fountains at Roseville.

— Placer County Sheriff detectives believe the drive-by shooting at a quinceañera party in Roseville was gang related.

— Oleg Tarasuk, 50, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol.

— Sammy Hagar’s restaurant in Downtown Roseville is under construction and set to open mid-September.

— Roseville man suspected of killing a pedestrian remains in jail without bail, facing murder, DUI.

— The Mexican restaurant will be open next week with a grand opening celebration next weekend.
