Whole Foods Facebook ‘Like’ Equals Nonprofit Donation
For each new Facebook "like" on Whole Foods Roseville's page, from now through Sunday, $1 will be donated to Keaton Raphael Memorial.

Following a local business on Facebook could help a child fighting cancer.
But not just any business – is encouraging people to “like” their Facebook page. In return, they will donate $1 for every new “like” now through this Sunday to Keaton Raphael Memorial, a Roseville-based nonprofit that provides financial and educational support to children with cancer.
“This is a win-win-win situation for everyone,” said Jill Miller, marketing team leader for Whole Foods Market in Roseville.

For the last three years, Miller has been working to build the store’s social media presence. And this campaign is a company-wide effort to attract more Facebook followers.
Miller said people love to participate in contests and she sees a significant lift in fans after one, which is the hope this time around as well.

“Social media is a growing, huge, powerful, powerful category – it’s a tool for us to reach a lot of people instantaneously at no cost,” Miller said.
At the start of the promotion, Whole Foods’ Roseville Facebook page had 5,343 fans. Miller said she hopes that will jump up to include 3,000 more followers by the end of July.
Earlier this week, Miller called out to followers asking for suggestions of which local nonprofit organization should be the recipient of their contest. About 10 nonprofit names were suggested and through a random drawing, Keaton Raphael Memorial was chosen. Miller said they plan to initiate another donation campaign before the end of the month, when the contest ends.
The Whole Foods Market store with the most new Facebook “likes” will receive $2,000 to donate to a nonprofit organization of their choice, Miller said.
