Allstate agency owners support local mothers in crisis
The Allstate Foundation grant to support nonprofit's work to unleash the potential of mothers in crisis, improve their quality of life

Allstate agency owners from the Sacramento area recently came together to secure a $13,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® grant to benefit Saint John’s Program for Real Change. The grant will support the nonprofit organization’s mission to reduce the number of families in the community who are experiencing poverty, homelessness and abuse by improving their social, emotional and physical health while also providing housing, transportation, childcare and employment training.
The agency owners volunteered at the organization’s monthly “reverse chef” dinner at Saint John’s Plates Café where a guest chef from a renowned local restaurant cooked a multi-course dinner for the mothers going through the Saint John’s hospitality training program. The Allstate volunteers prepared and served dinner to mothers who work at Saint John’s Plates Café to honor their progress and achievements.
The participating Allstate volunteers are among thousands of agency owners and financial specialists around the country working to strengthen communities by volunteering their time to support the causes they care about most.
