The department credits its bike unit’s proactive work with uncovering the gun and drugs and making the arrests.
3. Player lands $1 million-plus jackpot on $3 bet at Sacramento-area casino (sacbee.com) — A local woman turned a $3 spin into a $1,099,735 jackpot at Sky River Casino in Elk Grove, about 15 miles from downtown Sacramento, marking the largest win in the casino’s history. The story also highlights the casino’s rapid growth and reminds residents where to find help if gambling becomes a problem.
4. Folsom teens raise $50K for local schools with 'Lace Up for Learning' running event (kcra.com) — Sacramento-area classrooms are getting a boost from Vista del Lago High students in Folsom, whose “Lace Up for Learning” run has raised more than $50,000 for teacher requests across the region.
