Election ballots may have been stolen during Sacramento mail truck break-in (sacbee.com) — Sacramento voters are being warned that ballots may have been among mail stolen from a truck in the College Glen area, prompting a federal investigation and a reward offer. Residents are urged to track their ballots online, use Informed Delivery, and contact the county election office immediately if they suspect their ballot is missing or stolen.
2. Sacramento concertgoers hit by parking scam face missing cars and high fees (amedpost.com) — Sacramento drivers leaving the Aftershock music festival say their cars were towed from lots near Bercut Drive and later released from an unmarked dirt field only after paying $562, with one motorist reporting serious damage. Questions are swirling around a towing operation using the name J&B Towing, as residents scrutinize its paperwork, licensing, and authority to tow vehicles from local lots.
3. California Capital Airshow marks 20th anniversary with sold-out performances (kcra.com) — Sacramento families can still catch Sunday's California Capital Airshow, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the Thunderbirds and a historic farewell performance by the Royal Canadian Snowbirds. Alongside aerial shows, visitors can tour aircraft, explore a UPS cargo plane, and see a rhinestone-covered "Her Royal Flyness" plane designed to inspire young girls to pursue aviation.
4. Ben Simmons makes NBA return in Kings' loss to Warriors (talkbasket.net) — Sacramento Kings fans saw Ben Simmons make his NBA return in a 111-106 preseason loss to the Warriors, after missing all of last season. Simmons logged nine minutes with seven points, while rookie guard Darius Acuff Jr. led Sacramento's scoring in a late but unsuccessful comeback push on the road.
