Butterfly Pollinates Flower: Photo Of The Day
Honey bees are vaunted for their role as pollinators, but butterflies and other insects are also important pollinators.

SACRAMENTO, CA — This butterfly was busy midday Thursday looking for a snack in a Sacramento neighborhood. The favorite food of butterflies is flower nectar. Pollen sticks to their bodies as they crawl around flowers, with butterflies spreading pollen from flower to flower as they feed. Thank you for sharing your photo, Claus Weisemann!
