Elderly Couple Found Dead, Submerged In NorCal Canal: Reports

Only a portion of the back roof of their car was visible, FOX40 reported.

SUTTER COUNTY, CA — An elderly couple was discovered dead inside a car that was almost completely submerged in a canal Sunday in Sutter County, according to reports.

Officers responded around 5 p.m. to a vehicle underwater in a canal in the area of Powerline and Striplin roads, FOX40 reported, adding that only a portion of the back roof of the car was visible.

Authorities believe the vehicle was attempting a three-point turn and reversed into the water, according to ABC 10, which reported the car and victims were removed. The license plate for the vehicle was from Nevada, ABC 10 reported.
