The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sacramento.

Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Jeri Karges, your host of the Sacramento Daily.
First, today's weather:
Considerable cloudiness. High: 70 Low: 52.
Here are the top five stories in Sacramento today:
- People from Russia, who now live in Sacramento, rallied at the Circle of Lights at the Riverfront Promenade Saturday night to show solidarity with Ukrainians. Grassroots organization, "The Voices of Russian Opposition in Sacramento," held the demonstration. (KCRA3)
- The body of a missing 26-year-old Sacramento woman was found Sunday morning near Alta, authorities said. Kerina Blue's body was found near Green Valley Trail, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said on Sunday. The sheriff's office told KCRA 3 the death does not seem to be suspicious at this time. The terrain is rugged and is made up of dense forest and brush. The Placer and Nevada County sheriff's offices had 80 search and rescue personnel, K9s and helicopters out looking for Blue. No other details were released. (KCRA3)
- Sally Schmitt, one of the pioneers of California cuisine and the first owner of famed restaurant The French Laundry, has died. She was 90. As Schmitt tells it, The French Laundry— the highly acclaimed Yountville restaurant that she and her late husband Don founded in 1978 in a run-down, river-rock-and-timber building that had once been, yes, a French steam laundry, but also a saloon and a brothel — has its genesis in Citrus Heights, where she was raised on her family's farm. Schmitt credits her home economics studies at UC Davis with giving her the confidence to experiment with new recipes. "My laboratory courses at Davis came in handy," she writes in her new memoir, Six California Kitchens, set to be released on April 5. (Sactownmag.com & restaurant-hospitality)
- The Mills Art & Cultural Center (MACC) is one of the hosts for the 56th National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) show, Fertile Ground. The 2022 annual convention will be held in Sacramento. The MACC show contains three exhibits showcasing 36 nationwide artists. There are a total of 56 host locations and 86 exhibits around the greater Sacramento area. Fertile Ground is at the MACC Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from March 3 through March 19, so hurry if you want to check it out! (Rancho Cordova Independent)
- California State Parks is gathering public input on a proposal to fundamentally change the way history is interpreted at Sutter's Fort State Historic Park (SHP) as part of State Parks' Reexamining Our Past Initiative. With this effort, a more inclusive and historically accurate history will be shared with the thousands of school children and visitors that annually tour the National Historic Landmark site located in California's capital, Sacramento. State Parks is hosting two workshops to seek public input on proposed language for the interpretation mission, vision, goals, and themes being developed for the park's Interpretation Master Plan.
