- The Sacramento Kings have fired coach Luke Walton after getting off to a disappointing start in his third season in charge, a spokesperson with the team confirmed to KCRA 3. - A pregnant Vacaville woman turned her front lawn into a delivery room, and the proof is on her Ring doorbell camera. Last Thursday, a week before her due date, Emily Johnson, 31, began having contractions every 10 minutes. Thinking they could make it to the hospital, she and her husband Michael grabbed some things and ran out the door. As soon as they got to the lawn, Emily knew they were not going to make it to the hospital. She called her mom, who lives right down the street, and Michael called 911. The happy ending was delivered by paramedics on the lawn of her home. (CBS Sacramento)
- The Senate on Wednesday unanimously passed a bill that would award the Congressional Gold Medal to 13 US service members killed in a terrorist attack outside Kabul's airport in August. Among them was Nicole L Gee, of Sacramento.
