Merryhill Preschool Campers Donate 38 Backpacks to Children in Need

Campers collected backpacks and school supplies to benefit Volunteers of America's Operation Backpack program

Summer campers at Merryhill Preschools in Rocklin and Roseville recently collected backpacks to benefit Volunteers of America’s Operation Backpack program, which provides children in need with a new backpack filled with school supplies. Students at the two schools worked together to collect 38 new backpacks and a variety of school supplies for children supported by the organization to help prepare them for the new school year. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of spreading kindness in their community.

Merryhill School instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond, working with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
