Natura Executive on Sacramento's Booming Cannabis Industry
Natura VP of Corp. Development Omri Agam joined the Business Innovators Radio Podcast to discuss the changing face of the Sac cannabis space

Natura Life + Science Vice President of Corporate Development Omri Agam was featured last week on the Business Innovators Radio Podcast to discuss Natura's role in Sacramento's burgeoning bud business.
The Sacramento cannabis industry is alive and well since California voters approved Proposition 64, the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, in November 2016.
The industry has turned out - to no one's surprise - to be one of the most intriguing business sectors in the U.S. since the prohibition, then re-legalization, of alcohol in the 1920's and '30's.

A couple of quick numbers help tell the tale -
- Annual sales of cannabis in the United States in 2018 topped those of video games, Netflix, and Oreos combined. (MJ Biz Daily)
- The global legal marijuana market is expected to reach more than $145 billion by the end of 2025. (Grand View Research)
- Capital fundraising from North American public cannabis companies totaled more than $394 million in January of 2019 alone. (FlowHub)
And it should come as no surprise that California holds a large stake in the cannabis industry.
The Adult Use of Marijuana Act allows adults 21 years of age or older to legally grow, possess, and use cannabis for non-medicinal purposes, with certain restrictions. Additionally, this act made it legal to sell and distribute cannabis through a regulated business.

In January 2018, the state began issuing licenses for medicinal and adult-use cannabis activities for cultivation, manufacturing, retail, distribution, micro-businesses, testing laboratories, and temporary cannabis events.
Entrepreneur and executive Omri Agam is the Vice President of Corporate Development with Natura Life & Science, a Sacramento, California-based cannabis company that is aiming to solve the industry’s supply chain challenges by creating a one-stop platform to launch and scale cannabis brands.
Agam attended the Wharton School of Business and his resume includes experience in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, investments, and operations.
In May of this year, Agam and Natura announced the completion of a $91 million round of private financing, and he joined the Business Innovators Radio Podcast with Rick Brown to talk about the construction of what will be the largest vertically integrated cannabis campus in California.
