Here are the top stories today in Sacramento:
- For more than two decades, KCRA 3 has teamed up with Vitalant to hold the Blood Drive for Life, which this year is taking place on Jan. 5-8 across two locations in Rocklin and Sacramento. Have you thought about giving blood, but weren't sure it was really worth it? Check out these stories about the people whose lives were saved by transfusion. If saving the life of a toddler who grows up to be on the varsity volleyball team doesn't motivate you, keep reading. Maybe the guy who survived two bouts of Leukemia thanks to generous blood doners will get you. (KCRA3)

- A closure on Interstate 80 at West El Camino Avenue caused delays for morning commuters on Monday. The interstate closed just before 6 a.m. At 6:41 a.m., a CHP spokesperson said the affected roadway had reopened and that the normal flow of traffic had resumed. (CBS Sacramento)
- One person has been arrested in connection to a suspected DUI hit-and-run that killed one person in south Sacramento, police said in a release on Sunday. The incident happened just after 1:20 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Fruitridge Road. Authorities said they located the suspected driver a short distance away in a stolen vehicle and under the influence. Oletha Durham, 33, was arrested on felony charges related to vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a collision, vehicle theft and driving under the influence. (KCRA3)
