1 Suspect In Custody, Police Look For 2 Others In Robbery

One suspect was taken into custody and police are looking for two others in a robbery at Keg N Bottle in El Cerrito.

SAN DIEGO, CA — One suspect was taken into custody and police are looking for two others in a liquor store robbery in El Cerrito.

At 11 p.m. Monday, three suspects -- one with a gun -- entered the Keg N Bottle, 6060 El Cajon Blvd., near College Avenue, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Two of the suspects approached the counter when one of them produced a handgun and demanded cash and the clerk's shoes. The third suspect remained at the door as a lookout before the exchange, and then moved to fill a box with liquor bottles.

At this time, a customer walked into the store and alerted law enforcement that the store had been robbed. When police arrived, the suspects ran away, jumping a fence into a vacant lot toward 60th Street.

After surrounding the area, police apprehended the armed suspect, but could not locate the other two suspects.

No other information was released. There was another robbery reported in the Normal Heights neighborhood about an hour earlier.

The SDPD robbery detectives are handling the investigation.
