SAN DIEGO, CA — North Island Credit Union Foundation recently awarded scholarships to 10 college-bound students across San Diego County, the nonprofit corporation announced Thursday.

The students were recognized during a ceremony at the credit union's headquarters in San Diego. Recipients received $1,000 each and were selected based on academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

"Each year, we're inspired by the drive and purpose these students bring to their education and their communities," North Island Credit Union Foundation President Marvel Ford said in a statement. "They're not only pursuing their own goals, but also making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We're proud to support their continued success and the positive impact they will have in the years ahead."
