14-Year-Old In Critical Condition After North County Hit-And-Run
A 911 caller saw the boy unconscious in the street and heard a vehicle speeding away from the scene, police said.
ESCONDIDO, CA — A 14-year-old boy was in a hospital in critical condition Friday after a hit-and-run in northern San Diego County.
The crash happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of North Fig Street, according to the Escondido Police Department. A 911 caller saw the victim unconscious in the street and heard a vehicle speeding away from the scene.
The Escondido boy, who may have been on a skateboard when he was struck, was taken to a hospital where he remained in critical condition, police said.

Investigators were working to identify the suspect.
