2 Arrested At DUI Checkpoint In Escondido
A total of 2,052 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 741 motorists stopped for evaluations, according to Escondido police.

ESCONDIDO, CA — Two people were arrested at a DUI checkpoint over the weekend in San Diego County, authorities said.
The checkpoint was conducted from 6:15 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Avenue and Fig Street in Escondido.
A total of 2,052 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 741 motorists stopped for secondary evaluations, according to the Escondido Police Department. Two drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, 23 were cited for driving without a license, and three were cited for driving on a suspended license.

The department will hold another DUI and driver's license checkpoint on Dec. 16.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
