2-Car Crash Seriously Injures 1, Man Arrested For DUI: Police

The crash was reported at 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the area of 15th and F Streets, the San Diego Police Department reported.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A passenger was seriously injured and a motorist was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving at a two-vehicle crash in the East Village community of San Diego, authorities said Sunday.

The crash occurred about 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the area of 15th and F streets, the San Diego Police Department reported.

The front end of a speeding westbound Kia Optima, driven by a 20-year- old man on F Street, broadsided a 37-year-old man's southbound Subaru Forester that was on 15th Street crossing F Street.

The Kia then struck a parked Ford F-150 pickup truck, which pushed into a parked Toyota Corolla. A passenger in the Subaru suffered serious injuries, which included a brain bleed and a ruptured diaphragm.

The 20-year-old motorist was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
