2 Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash On SR-94 In San Diego
The driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two people were killed in a single-vehicle collision over the weekend on state Route 94 in the San Diego area, authorities said.
The crash happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday when a Dodge Challenger was traveling eastbound on state Route 94 to the northbound Interstate 15 transition and veered off the roadway of the ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
"The Dodge Challenger veered off the roadway of the transition ramp, became airborne and struck an overhead sign," CHP officials said in a news release. "The Dodge Challenger came to rest on its roof within state Route 94 westbound lanes."

The driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names were withheld pending family notification.
Debris from the crash struck another vehicle that resulted in minor damage but no other injuries, officials said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
