Two additional suspects were behind bars in connection with a gang-related shooting that left a man dead in Linda Vista last summer.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two additional suspects were behind bars Thursday in connection with a gang-related shooting that left a 25-year-old man dead in Linda Vista last summer.
Jacqueline America Calderon, 20, and 21-year-old Erick Noriega were taken into custody during a traffic stop in Escondido on Wednesday evening and jailed on suspicion of taking part in the slaying of Josue Amador of San Diego, according to the San Diego Police Department.
On Tuesday, two other suspects in the case -- Axel Joshua Medina, 21, and Cynthia Marie Webb, 20 -- were arrested in connection with Amador's June 29 death.

About 9:30 p.m. that day, patrol officers investigating reports of gunfire found the victim on a patio outside a rental unit at an apartment complex in the 6900 block of Eastman Street, mortally wounded from at least one gunshot to his upper body, SDPD Lt. Andra Brown said. Amador died at the scene.
Investigators determined that Amador and three companions were approached by two men who "issued a gang challenge," after which, one of the pair pulled a handgun and opened fire, Brown said.
