A vehicle became stuck on a flooded roadway at La Media and Airway roads amid the San Diego region's first strong rain storm of the season.

SAN DIEGO — Two people were rescued Wednesday morning from a car that was trapped on a flooded street in San Diego's South Bay, according to a news report.

A Dodge Charger became stuck on a flooded roadway at La Media and Airway roads amid the region's first strong rain storm of the season. San Diego Fire-Rescue crews freed the two people inside the vehicle, NBC 7 San Diego reported.

"The road was closed after we got stuck so there was no sign that we could not enter," the driver told NBC 7. "We didn't know how deep the water was."
