SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect slightly warmer and windier weather this week, according to the National Weather Service.

"Fair and warmer weather is expected this week, and the warmest days will be Wednesday and Thursday," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Monday. "Weak to moderate Santa Ana winds will develop Tuesday and continue through Wednesday. Weaker winds and a cooling trend should take place Thursday through Sunday."

In other news, a newborn was found on a Southland sidewalk; a man was fatally attacked by his three dogs; a car crashed through the wall of a 24 Hour Fitness and drove straight into the gym's swimming pool over the weekend; and flu and RSV activity has increased across California.

The state recorded 88 deaths from the viruses by the end of last week, including the first pediatric death of the season. Health officials urged people to get their flu shots ahead of the holiday season.
