3 Injured In Head-On Crash In Mountain View Area

Police said the Passat was traveling westbound when it crossed into eastbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Kia Soul.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Three people were hurt Thursday when a Volkswagen Passat drove into oncoming traffic in the Mountain View neighborhood, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 7:37 p.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of Ocean View Boulevard, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police said the Passat was traveling westbound on Ocean View Boulevard when it crossed into eastbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Kia Soul.

The 33-year-old man driving the Passat suffered internal injuries considered to be life-threatening.

The 61-year-old woman driving the Soul suffered a leg injury and the 63-year-old woman in the passenger seat suffered a broken femur.

"Alcohol was a factor in this collision," police added.
