5 Charged In San Diego With Armed Robberies Of FedEx Delivery Trucks
Prosecutors say that in three of the robberies, the perpetrators carjacked the trucks while the drivers were getting gas.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Five alleged members of an armed robbery crew were charged by San Diego County prosecutors with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in high-end merchandise by robbing FedEx delivery drivers at gunpoint.
The defendants are accused in five separate incidents stretching from July 2024 to June 2025, in which over $667,000 of Louis Vuitton merchandise was snatched, according to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors say that in three of the robberies, the perpetrators carjacked the trucks while the drivers were getting gas.

On another occasion, the defendants allegedly made off with 25 boxes of designer products from the Fashion Valley mall as they were being delivered.
Another hold-up was unsuccessful though, as the FedEx driver "fought off the gun-wielding suspect, forcing the suspect to abandon his plan," the D.A.'s Office said.

San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan said in a statement the stolen items were taken with the intention of reselling them "to unsuspecting customers."
None of the stolen merchandise has been recovered, according to the D.A.'s Office.
The defendants are facing felony charges that carry potential sentences ranging from just over seven years to life in prison.
Two of the defendants, Stephen Buck, 30, and Maurice Cyrus, 29, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday. Three others, Deshawn Birden, 34; Jamal Buck, 33; and Frederick Jackson, 25, are awaiting extradition to San Diego.
