5 Treated For Smoke Inhalation In San Diego Boat Fire
Five people were treated for smoke inhalation following a boat fire Monday that broke out at 1790 Water St. in San Diego, officials said.
SAN DIEGO — Five people were treated for smoke inhalation following a boat fire Monday that broke out about 2 p.m. at 1790 Water St., San Diego Fire-Rescue officials said.
SDFR dispatched a team of 36 personnel including three medics, two trucks, four engines, two battalion chefs and one rescue unit.
Fire crews were able to douse the blaze on a 36-foot Bayliner cabin cruiser, that was spotted by smoke billowing from the vessel near the Coronado Bridge.

SDFR confirmed that three people on the boat, and two firefighters, were transported to local hospitals to be checked for smoke inhalation.
Early indications in an investigation into the cause of the recreational motor boat fire suggested it may have been electrical in nature.

The Coast Guard and San Diego Harbor Police were called in to tow the boat to the harbor.
