52 Parking Pay Stations Vandalized In Balboa Park: Police
The suspects spray-painted the machines, shattered their glass screens, and/or placed a sticky substance on the keypads.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities sought the public's help Tuesday in identifying the people responsible for vandalizing dozens of parking pay stations throughout the Balboa Park area, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
The vandalism spree, which happened between Dec. 24 and Feb. 6, left a total of 52 newly installed parking pay stations inoperable, according to the San Diego Police Department. The suspects spray-painted the machines, shattered their glass screens, and/or placed a sticky substance on the keypads. The vandalism caused an estimated $77,500 in damage.
The crimes took place in the 1800 to 2900 blocks of Sixth Avenue, 2800 and 2200 blocks of Park Boulevard, 1800 block of Village Place, 1900 block of Eighth Avenue, 600 block of Juniper Street, and the 2700 to 3200 blocks of Balboa Drive, according to the department.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in these cases. Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
