The organization has 172 adult dogs that need forever homes.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — San Diego Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for adult dogs in an effort to raise awareness, encourage adoptions and make space at its shelters.
The organization has 1,742 animals in care, including 172 adult dogs that need forever homes.
"This has been a challenging summer for us, with a lot of animals coming through our doors in need of our help," said San Diego Humane Society CEO and president Dr. Gary Weitzman. "Now we're asking the community to help us help them by opening their hearts and homes to a new family member."
