SAN DIEGO, CA — More than 120 restaurants across San Diego County will offer special prix fixe menus this September as San Diego Restaurant Week returns for eight days of countywide dining deals.
San Diego Restaurant Week runs Sept. 13-20 and spans more than 30 neighborhoods. Participating restaurants will offer curated two-course lunch and three-course dinner menus starting at $30, highlighting a range of local cuisine from fine dining establishments to neighborhood eateries.
The event, presented by the California Restaurant Association, is designed to promote the region's culinary industry while while encouraging diners to support local restaurants.
A portion of participation fees will benefit Restaurants Care, a nonprofit that provides emergency financial assistance to California restaurant workers, including cooks, servers, bartenders and dishwashers.
"San Diego Restaurant Week is all about bringing people together through delicious food while celebrating the incredible restaurants and hospitality professionals who shape our community," said Joanna Pearce, manager of California Restaurant Association's San Diego chapter.
Organizers said the event also continues a partnership with Specialty Produce, which will highlight seasonal, locally sourced ingredients featured in select menus. Those ingredients are expected to be announced in July.
"This September series is the perfect opportunity to explore new spots, revisit longtime favorites, and support the local restaurant industry during an important season for businesses across the county," Pearce said.
