SAN DIEGO, CA — A teenager was wounded Monday in a drive-by shooting at a Clairemont-area bus stop.
The youth was standing on the roadside at Genesee Avenue and Mount Etna Drive at about 2:15 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan pulled up near him and a passenger in it opened fire, wounding the victim in the leg, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The vehicle then accelerated away, SDPD Officer Colin Steinbroner said.
Paramedics took the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital in Serra Mesa. His condition was not immediately available.
Police fanned out through Clairemont and its environs in search of the suspects, aided by personnel aboard an SDPD helicopter, Steinbroner said.
