SAN DIEGO, CA — Think your pet has star power? San Diego Humane Society is looking for the region's most photogenic pets as part of its annual calendar photo contest and fundraiser.
The nonprofit on Monday launched its 34th annual Photo Fundraiser, which invites people to submit photos of their pets and collect votes from supporters. The friendly competition is open to all companion animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and reptiles. Entries and voting are open through Aug. 31.
Voting costs $1 per vote, and all proceeds benefit the organization's services, including emergency veterinary care, animal rescue and Project Wildlife's rehabilitation program.
"Our community's passion for their pets is unmatched, and this fundraiser is the perfect way to celebrate that bond," said Brian Daugherty, executive vice president of San Diego Humane Society. "Whether your pet is a recent rescue or a long-time family member, entering them in the contest ensures that other animals across our region get the second chance they deserve."
The top vote-getters will be featured in the 2027 San Diego Humane Society calendar and receive prizes, including a pet-friendly resort stay and tickets to the organization's Fur Ball gala. Pets receiving at least five votes will be included in the calendar.
According to San Diego Humane Society, the fundraiser helps support care for more than 40,000 animals each year at its campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego.
