SAN DIEGO, CA — SeaWorld San Diego's Howl-O-Scream will return Sept. 11 with its largest lineup in the event's six-year history.
The nighttime Halloween event will run on select nights through Oct. 31 and will include six haunted houses, new scare zones, vignettes, live entertainment, themed bars and hidden speakeasies.
There will be two all-new haunted houses and four returning fan favorites, according to the theme park. The new haunted houses include "Area 64: MOTHERSHIP," a prequel to the park's "Area 64: Alien Outbreak" attraction that takes guests through a crashed alien spacecraft and government research facilities. A second unnamed new haunted house will be revealed later this year.
Returning haunted houses include "Circus of the Damned 3D," "Simon's Slaughterhouse," "Deathwater Bayou: Awakening" and "Nightmare Experiment: Sweet DreamzZz."
SeaWorld said the event is intended for mature audiences and requires a separate ticket. Tickets are currently available through the park's Sinister Sale, with discounts of up to 65% and prices starting at $33.99.
More details on new scare zones, food, entertainment and other experiences will be announced ahead of the event.
